The Young Felines Program is designed to support 20 children (boys and girls) aged 6 to 12 whose parents have very limited financial resources. They are selected from suburban areas based on the parents’ social and financial situation, the parents’ determination, and the child’s motivation.
Underprivileged children in suburban areas often face numerous challenges in their schooling. They do not have access to the same resources and opportunities as their more fortunate peers, frequently living in precarious conditions amid pervasive urban violence. With the rising costs of education, many families are forced to choose between housing, food, transportation, health, or schooling, which negatively impacts the children’s education.
The Young Lions initiative is driven by a desire to "GIVE FORWARD" by planting good seeds for tomorrow. It is based on the contrast between two eras:
At Senegal’s independence in 1960, all school-aged children were enrolled and received the necessary supplies.
60 years later, quality education has become a luxury accessible mainly to the wealthy. Success is now dependent on the resources provided by parents.
Honesty, sincerity, simplicity, humility, generosity, the absence of vanity, and the ability to serve others—qualities accessible to all souls—are the true foundations of our spiritual life.
The Bakhawa Foundation works to improve the academic performance of underprivileged children through personalized support and the teaching of effective study methods. Therefore, providing parents with a valuable opportunity for the educational development of their children within the community.
